Meet John Robertson, Owner of Robertson Media Services aka Create My DVD. A Business Owner, father, Christian, web site designer, and a love for video and photography.
When it comes to photography and images, I turn on my creative side. Old films are were not made for TV, they will never look perfect but treating them like artwork makes them look good for digital viewing and keeps that authentic look. Checking the focus, lighting, calibrations before I start a job is important. If I see something wrong, I have to fix it and sometimes that means re-running the entire job. If I worked for my competitors, Im sure they would have a big problem with the extra time I might spend on jobs to get them done right.
One of my favorite things to do is to help fix homes for those that can't afford the repair like Fixing a leaking roof, build a handicap ramp or maybe even repair a hole in the floor. I feel it's important to help others and the homeowners are usually so appreciative and even emotional. Similarly, I love what I do. Transferring my customers precious memories from old film reels or video tapes and converting them to digital means they can relive part of their past, see an old friend or parents that have passed.
Some may say my job may be just a job but in the end, when I get the call back from an emotional customer telling me how great it was to relive the memories makes my job the greatest gift I can give.

Q : How did you get started converting VHS to DVD?
A : I had many video tapes of my kids destroyed during a flood. The tapes actually rusted and the video content was lost. This prompted me to start saving the rest of my tapes to DVD. After realizing how difficult.
Q: But if you transferred the tapes yourself why start a business doing the same thing?
A: Good question. The reason is because it wasn't easy to do at all. I mean, I bought this VHS to DVD device and had all kinds of problems that couldn't be fixed. Their support person told me to use shareware but it was useless. Then bought a different device and it had other problems. So finally after discovering a really good method to transfer VHS to DVD, I thought maybe I could use my experience and new transfer method to start a business and help others transfer their tapes to DVD.

Weather you're looking to transfer 8mm film to Digital or looking to have your video collection put on a flash drive. Create My DVD has the experience and equipment to get it done right. If your looking to save a buck, you can try buying a VHS to DVD converter but you will most likely have problems. I have tried these many years ago and again just recently and I can confirm that they are still very limited on what they can do and for 2 hour VHS transfers they have horrible quality. Now if you are trying to convert 8mm, Super 8, or 16mm film to digital, we have the best equipment to experience to make it look great. You ask: What about DIY Telcine machines? My answer is why bother? I've read many complaints that these machines actually melt after running a bunch of film reels. That $600 you just spent on a melted machine could have paid for an awesome 8mm film transfer by Create My DVD.
